Fantasy love is much better than reality love. Never doing it is very exciting. The most exciting attractions are between two opposites that never meet.

I suppose I have a really loose interpretation of "work," because I think that just being alive is so much work at something you don't always want to do. Being born is like being kidnapped. And then sold into slavery. People are working every minute.
The machinery is always going. Even when you sleep.

Dying is the most embarrassing thing that can ever happen to you, because someone's got to take care of all your details.

I'm the type who'd be happy not going anywhere as long as I was sure I knew exactly what was happening at the places I wasn't going to. I'm the type who'd like to sit home and watch every party that I'm invited to on a monitor in my bedroom.

They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.

“People sometimes say that the way things happen in the movies is unreal, but actually it's the way things happen to you in life that's unreal. The movies make emotions look so strong and real, whereas when things really do happen to you, it's like watching television -- you don't feel anything.”

Today, I was getting ready to get in the shower. Completely naked, I pulled the curtain away and there was a huge spider on the wall in the shower. I screamed and my husband, disoriented from sleeping, came running in and knocked me over. I killed the spider with my forehead and broke my nose. FML

Today, I woke up a little after seven. I felt sick to my stomach because last night was my bachelor party and I drank more than I ever have before. I checked my phone, and I had received 42 missed calls. It was seven o'clock pm. Today was my wedding day. FML

I know it's quite annoying when people ask to vote for stuff. But it's not for me, it's for my 18 kiddies at school who are 9 years and are going ballistic already for 3 weeks about this. And one of them got nominated.

Carnivale is an American series produced by HBO.
2 seasons were made although 6 were intended.
High rates, many fans and awards couldn't convince HBO to continue the series.
They were too expensive.
It's in the likes of Twin Peaks and Deadwood.
The series takes place during the great depression (1930's).
It's about a young man Ben Hawkins who works at a travelling carnival.
He has strange dreams and visions and has the ability to heal people.
He tries to find Henry Scudder, someone with quite the same powers who crossed paths with the carnival long before.
Another important character is Brother Justin Crowe,
a methodist preacher who lives with his sister.
He shares dreams with Ben, also has powers, he can bend the will of others and manipulate them.
During the series they are drawn to each other.
It's a story about good and evil and the struggle between free will and destiny.
Be careful, if you miss one episode, you're lost.
If you look out, you might find the two seasons at a good price.

The Doors; Live at the Matrix.

Just out: a very old recording from The Doors, dating 1967.
The Matrix is a small club in San Francisco.
The Doors weren't famous yet and they performed
for a lot less than the club capacity, which was a hundred people.
And the crowd wasn't really interested in this strange band.
So they had to try really hard and that's when they are
at their best.
The sound isn't the best, but it has been restored to the max.
A lot better than the crappy bootlegs that have circulating for years.
A nice record.

Gotan Project Live (2cd)

If you're looking for some really good lounge cd's,
you might check out the Gotan Project.
Their music sounds like remixed tango music. (yes, me neither)
They have just released their new live (2cd) album.
To be honest, it's like some kind of best of album...but live.
Cd 1 is from the 'la revancha del tango tour'
and cd 2 from the lunatico tour. (their two previous albums)
As a bonus, yep two bonus tracks.
(Diferente, on of their hits in a different version. And the same with Santa Maria)
The thing is that it quite sounds the same as on the
original albums except with some applause.
No extra added value really if you already have everything.
But all well sung and played of course,
I just don't see why they should have released a live cd.
For fans, or people who don't have anything yet.

Two brothers in need of money turn to their rich uncle.
But he asks a favour in return.
Starts of slowly. Quite predictable.
And quite boring at times, altough both main actors act well enough,

I was very eager to watch in Bruges, I'm Belgian and I know the city quite well.
I had read some quite good reviews about it, but again a disappointment.
Farrell tries to be funny throughout the movie, but fails often.
The movie is 100 min. long, and you have to wait one hour for it to get your attention. There are quite a few flaws in the movie, things that wouldn't happen in reality... f.i. someone jumps on a boat, gets shot and all...and the boat driver doesn't even turn around...helloooooo?!!
There is something about midgets in it that is quite funny though..
But it merely looks like a documentary than a movie.

This movie had a very tempting trailer.
Bad reviews.
No everyone is thinking, who should I believe?
Me, maybe?

It's a fun movie, based on real events. That's a plus.
Very interesting and finally some insight on how people count cards in casino's...
A plus again.

The story is entertaining enough to watch the whole movie and keep watching it.
It is worth watching but don't expect an Oscar winner.
It definately is not as bad as the critics said.
Kevin Spacey is of course great as ever.

We're talking about Blade Runner.
This movie has been made and/or released in
five (!) versions.
This is the ultimate collection with all five versions.
Including the new version, Ridley Scotts directors cut,
the way he wanted to see his movie.
If you buy the suitcase you get the five disc dvd set
with lots of bonus material, a letter from director Ridley Scott,
a miniature spinner and origami unicorn.
There is a very long documentary on the dvd set
which is extremely interesting.
That documentary made me have even more respect
for this movie and the people who worked on it.

I always thought this site looks a bit like the postsecret one...
Here you can read and see scans and photographs of notes that people left to others.
Mostly to tell them not to do something.
But in an agressive way (without being active, thus the passive, get it?) and often very ironic too.
Maybe you can get some ideas of this and use them to write to your husband or brother who pees on the toiletseat or still slings socks around the room....
Often very hilarious and amusing.

Café den Boulevard, Groeningelaan 15, 8500 Kortrijk.
(West-Flanders, close to Bruges and Ghent)

They have more than 120 varieties of beers. (Nice wines, coffees, ...)
Every month they have another beer from tap.
It's is a very nice and cosy place to sit.
Great music and above all extremely friendly and nice owners and staff!!

They also have a whole page of tapas and small snacks.
MMMMmmmm I have tested them thourougly with great delight!

If you visit Kortrijk this is an absolute MUST!!!!
Closed on wednesday and thursday.

Just released in a region 2 dvd boxset. The complete series from the Addams Family (volumes and 9 discs).
The 1964 ABC tv-series existed out of 64 episodes of 30 minutes.
Don't expect to see any color though.

It's not too late. On his website you can download many live recordings from his American Summer tour.
Just click on the link above, click 'view show info', and on the right side you can download the live recording. Some are in flac, others also in mp3. You can burn them right away! (Don't forget to remove the 2 sec gap when you burn them!)

A not so well known artist in Belgium, (unless if you mention his finished relationship with Aniston) but a famous one in the US.
Sounds like a pop version of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton, and writes all the songs himself. (Former Berklee attendee)

His latest studio album Continuum is a massive hit. It is bluesy, poppy and soulfull.
He just released "Where the light is", a double cd live album with an acoustic set, band set and John Mayer trio ( with Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan) set. A live dvd is also available.

Standout track: Gravity.

A fan of U2?
They have just released their first 3 albums (Boy, October and War): remastered with a bonus disc.
If you buy them in a shop you could easily have to spend between 25 and 40 euro's for one album.
If you buy them on amazon you pay approximately 45 euro's (if customs don't get you-otherwise 55) for all 3 of them including an exclusive box (with an extra spot for the next one coming: Under a blood red sky) and a repro of a vintage poster.
There you go... Goodie Goodie.

Loneliness, grief, joy, autism (very unlike the stereotypical Rain Man) and it makes you burst out in laughing a couple of times.
The main roles are played by both a fantastic Alan Rickman and Sigourney Weaver.
Rickman is a man that is just released out of prison looking for his new life and Weaver is the autistic woman that is the mother of the girl that is involved in a car accident with Rickman.
Very Touching.
Recenly released in the Quality Film Line, so very cheap for an amazing brilliant movie.
